What a strange thing to do, being a person who taught this was not reachable, it has become quite a fun thing to do, you begin to learn, the dream world is quite fun after all!
the progress is weird, I suppose, it depends for every person, for me, it has needed vivid dreaming and kind of nightmarish situations, having to force myself awake before attempting again
but the question I had, how to discern reality from dreaming?
its easy, when you learn how to do it..
in other times, its not lucid dreaming, just vivid
those are scary, I still have my questions about what is real, what is not
